  • Do you offer consultations?

Yes! Consultations are available for virtually any service and are required for perms, color corrections, platinum retouches, platinum cards and fashion colors.  This helps ensure we understand your goals and create the best plan for your hair.

  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

We kindly ask for advance notice when canceling or rescheduling. This allows us to accommodate other guests and respect our stylists’ time.  Charges may occur on cancellations less than 48 hours ahead of appointment or no shows.  Our full cancellation policy can be seen on the policy page of salonsalonfortcollins.com.

  • How should you prepare your hair for a curly cut?

Arrive with your hair down, detangled, dry, and in its natural curl pattern. Light product is fine, but avoid ponytails, buns, clips, or braids. At Salon Salon Fort Collins, hair that isn't detangled may incur additional fees.
  • What's the difference between a retouch and a solid color service?

A retouch covers only root regrowth up to 1.5 inches with one color, typically for gray coverage. Solid color applies one shade from roots to ends and is needed for regrowth wider than 1.5 inches or full coverage.
  • How long does a Brazilian Blowout last compared to Keratin treatments?

Brazilian Blowouts typically last two to three months, while full Keratin Complex treatments last four to five months. Keratin Express is a lighter option lasting one to two months, offering flexibility based on your maintenance preferences.
  • What does a curly cut specialist do differently than a regular haircut?

Curly cuts use specialized dry-cutting techniques designed for textured and naturally curly hair. Stylists work with your natural curl pattern to create shape and balance. At Salon Salon Fort Collins, pricing is based on time, length, and hair density.
  • When should you schedule a Signature Detox treatment?

A Signature Detox removes buildup, dirt, and hard water minerals from your scalp and hair. It's strongly recommended for new curly cut clients and anyone noticing dullness or product residue affecting hair health and texture.
  • What's included in a partial highlight service?

A partial highlight lightens the top and face-framing areas for subtle dimension. It includes one bowl of lightener, up to 60 grams of toner if needed, and a protective treatment to maintain hair health during the coloring process.
  • Can modern perms create loose waves or just tight curls?

Modern perms can create a range of textures, from soft waves to defined curls or tight ringlets. At Salon Salon Fort Collins, a consultation is required to determine the best curl pattern for your hair type and styling goals.
  • What's the biggest mistake people make with curly hair maintenance?

Many clients skip proper detangling or use the wrong products for their curl type. Specialized stylists provide education on care routines, styling methods, and product recommendations tailored to your natural texture for best results.
  • How does a balayage differ from a full highlight?

Balayage uses hand-painted techniques to create customized, multidimensional color for ombre or fashion looks. Full highlights use foils throughout the head for more dramatic lightening. Both include two bowls of lightener, toner, and protective treatment.
  • What are the benefits of professional hair treatments versus conditioners?

True treatments penetrate the hair to restore and maintain internal strength, while conditioners provide only surface protection. Treatments address concerns like dryness and damage, improving hair health over time with stronger, smoother results.
  • Does Fort Collins weather affect color maintenance and fading?

Colorado's dry climate and intense sun exposure can accelerate color fading and dryness. Regular treatments and proper product use help maintain vibrancy. At Salon Salon Fort Collins, stylists provide guidance on protecting color between appointments.
  • Why does curly cut pricing depend on hair density?

Higher hair density requires more time and specialized sectioning techniques to work with each curl individually. Pricing reflects the additional expertise and effort needed to create balanced, manageable styles for thicker or more voluminous curly hair.
